Course Overview
The Diploma in Pharmacy program is intended to offer the basic knowledge in different various dimensions of pharmacy. This course offers a comprehensive approach to provide a platform for the students to extend and enhance their studies in the field of pharmacy. This course provides an opportunity to explore different areas of specialization that includes the subjects related to Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Pharmacy Practice.
Duration of the Course
2 years + practical training of 500 hours spread over a period of not less than 3 months in a Govt. Hospital/Pharmacy, which is recognized by Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi.
Eligibility
Candidates who have passed two years P.U.C Examination of Karnataka P.U.C Board or any equivalent examination of any other approved Board or university with not less than 40% marks in any combination comprising P.C.M or P.C.B (minimum eligibility should be based on the aggregate of P.C.M. or P.C.B) or P.C.M..B, PC and computer Sciences, P.C and Electronics.

The candidates who successfully complete the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) program are expected to attain the professional competencies such as Review Prescriptions, Dispense Prescription, Non-Prescription Medicines, Provide Patient Counselling, Education, Hospital and Community Pharmacy Management, Expertise on Medications, Proficiency on drugs / pharmaceuticals, Entrepreneurship and Leadership, Deliver Primary and Preventive Healthcare, Professional, Ethical and Legal Practice and Continuing Professional Development
Course Outcomes
e candidates will possess knowledge and comprehension of the core and basic knowledge associated with the profession of pharmacy. They can learn, select, and apply appropriate methods and procedures, resources, and modern pharmacy limitations. Also they can understand, analyze and communicate the value of their professional roles in society.
